But back to shopping malls... In Bangkok, there are 4 shopping malls that are in the TOP-30 of the largest shopping malls in the world. Fashion Island (Minburi) 29th > Siam Paragon (Pathum Wan) 22nd > ICONSIAM (Khlong San) 10th > Central World (Pathum Wan) 9th.

Bangkok chosen as Asia’s 2nd most cycling-friendly city
Netizens are not convinced with the Independent‘s selection of Bangkok as Asia’s 2nd most cycling-friendly city.Singapore ranked in first place, followed by Bangkok, Osaka in Japan, Xiamen in China, Taipei in Taiwan, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Beijing in China.

In reality, it only takes 10 minutes to get to Bang Krachao via boat from Klong Toei Pier for a savvy price of 10 baht. As soon as you get off the boat, you can rent a bicycle, and explore the island’s narrow cycling lanes – elevated over swampy waters – without the fear of getting tangled up in Bangkok’s terrifying traffic.

Awash with greenery, the artificial island attracts wildlife like monitor lizards, snakes, and birds. There are several parks, cafes, and restaurants to stop and take a rest from peddling.

Cycling in Bang Krachao makes for a wonderful day trip, but those more serious about the sport should head to Bangkok’s Rot Fai Park, or, Suan Rot Fai.

Rot Fai Park is home to a three-kilometre cycling path running through a scenic, green route around the park. The track is one of the longest in the city.

Bikes can be rented for as cheap as 30 baht per day. If you get bored of cycling, the park also features tennis, basketball and volleyball courts. (The Thaiger)

A luxury resort in the middle of a city: Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok

While the hotel may be in the center of Bangkok, this isn’t just a city hotel. The abundant green outdoor spaces, expansive pool, and wide array of dining and drinking spots make the hotel feel more like a resort than a staid city property. Multiple staff members even referred to the hotel as an “urban sanctuary” during my short stay.Four Seasons may be one of the herald-bearers of luxury hotels, but this property also managed to show a fun, down-to-earth side of the brand: Its staff members are warm and approachable, and the property embraces the surrounding Creative District neighborhood. It’s the ideal hotel for those looking to get a taste of Bangkok while also getting pampered.

Four Seasons doesn’t have a traditional loyalty program for members to earn and redeem points on stays, but cash rates at the Bangkok hotel currently start at 17,000 Thai baht, or about $489, per night.

The Four Seasons, which first opened in late 2020, shares a hotel and residential compound with a separate Four Seasons Private Residences Bangkok tower as well as the Capella Bangkok hotel. Additionally, it’s part of a stretch of the Chao Phraya riverfront dotted by several high-end hotels like the Shangri-La Bangkok and the Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.
